UNISON Elections 2025

UNISON’s National Executive Council (NEC) is the executive body of the union which is elected by its members to be its ruling council. All NEC seats are up for election in 2025.

The members’ ballot will be open in April. But before then there is a branch nomination phase which takes place from Monday 13 January to Friday 14 February.

At the Solihull Branch meeting held on 4th February, we voted unanimously to nominate the Time for Real Change candidates. Time for Real Change states,

“UNISON is crying out for real change. We are rank and file UNISON activists determined to make our union democratic, transparent and successful – a fighting union that delivers for its members.”

We have nominated the following candidates for the seats that are relevant to our branch.

Regional Seats – West Midlands

Caroline Johnson (F), Lisa Bland (F), Mike Moore (G)

Service Group – Local Government

Jane Doolan (F), Andrea Egan (F), Jenny Black (G), David Jones (G)

National Seats

Black Members – Antonia Bright (F), Amerit Rait (M), Julia Mwaluke (R)

Young Members – Natasha Bednall (F), Kameron Spence (G)
